Nanyang Technology invests 25.5 million yuan to establish a Li-ion battery subsidiary

China Nanyang Technological will be associated with Shao Yi Xing to launch a 30 million yuan joint venture Zhejiang tai yang lithium battery materials Co., Ltd., which Nanyang intends to own capital invested 25.5 million yuan, 85% stake; Shao Yi Xing in cash 4.5 million yuan, 15% stake.

The notice shows that the business scope of subsidiary is lithium ion cell separator and lithium-ion batteries other materials. After founded, to set an annual capacity 15 million square meters lithium-ion batteries project, with a total investment of 100 million yuan. The the project completion, the annual sales income will up to 120 million yuan, average annual net profit 25 million yuan, the project construction period is 1.5 years.

Nanyang Technology said the joint venture aims to give full play to its advantages for the future development of space, bigger and stronger core business and improve the company’s investment value, better return of all investors. The new industries of strategic investment in line with national policy guidance and strategic direction of the Company, it is expected to bring good economic benefits.

Lenovo offical document about ThinkPad laptop battery use and maintenance (part 1)

Note: This will instruct you on how to use the battery effectively and how to extend battery life on a ThinkPad system.

New batteries

When purchasing a new battery, you may find that the battery is at or near 0% capacity. This will be due to the length of time the battery has been in stock and does not affect the quality of the battery. If the battery is at 0%, it may take up to 12 hours of continuous charging or, cycling the battery three times to wake up the battery. If the new battery still does not have a charge after having been charged for 12 hours or cycled three times, it should be replaced. Standard warranty on all ThinkPad batteries is no more than one year as stated in the Statement of Limited Warranty that comes with the machine or battery.

Battery conditioning

In general, rechargeable batteries store electrical energy through chemical reaction — therefore, capacity will change by temperature, unused storage period, load condition, and number of cycles used.
 
The following instructions provide tips on how to obtain the best battery condition to extend battery rundown time:

  • Once you have started charging the battery pack, do not use it until it is fully charged.
  • If your battery is brand new and you are charging it for the first time, your battery may not be charged to full capacity due to characteristics of chemicals in the cell.

How to buy the right laptop battery and laptop ac adapter for your laptop

Your owner’s manual should have the brand and model on the front cover. If you don’t have your owner’s manual then almost every laptop has a manufacturer’s label on the bottom of the computer. This label should have the brand and model number on it. DZ-GX3100 Charger

Go to your desktop.

Your computer’s manufacturer, model, etc. will be listed on the following page.

Selecting the correct laptop ac adapter

Before purchasing an AC Adapter you need to make sure make the AC Adapter will give you the correct voltage and suitable current output.

To find out the voltage & current, turn your laptop over and look for a label, sticker or writing which shows the voltage and current, it should look something like the examples below. The voltage figure will have a “V” after the number i.e 19V and the current will have a “A” or “mA”. i.e 3.15A. You can also find these shown on your original AC adapter if you have it. The Voltage must be within 10% of your original AC Adapters Voltage. The Amps may be higher but they cannot by lower. You can work out the Wattage by multiplying the Voltage by the Amps i.e 20V X 3A = 60 Watts. PLEASE NOTE: If the wattage requirement for your laptop is lower than the 60W or 90W output of the adapter, it will not damage your laptop, your laptop will only take the amount of power it requires. I.E. If your laptop needs 45W, then either the 60W or 90W will work OK. If your laptop needs 80W then you will need the 90W one as the 75W one will not be powerful enough.

The world’s first solar cell bus will trial operation

Sanyo on August 27 announced trial operation of world’s first solar battery buses in Okayama City, Japan on September 1.

TSMC in September to begin the construction of new solar battery factory

The world’s largest foundry TSMC has announced on the last Saturday to initiate the construction of the thin solar cells plant this September.

TSMC Rick Tsai said the new plant focuses on the development of CIGS thin solar modules, this is another big move after bought 20% stake of Taiwan’s largest Solar manufacturing company Motech in January this year. Motech has been the world’s sixth biggest solar cells manufacturers in 2007.

This Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) has provided a standard for wireless mobile devices Chargers finished.
